Psychotherapy

I offer short- and long-term psychotherapy to individuals 18+ who reside within Massachusetts. I provide both virtual sessions, and in-person sessions in my Cambridge office.

About Therapy

Therapy is a space and a relationship designed to help you increase wellbeing related to your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Therapy can be for all kinds of things: changing a habit, navigating a relationship, processing experiences, understanding who you are, learning to manage situations, and much more. Therapy looks different for different people, and should be specific to your needs and goals.

Sometimes people come to therapy with the difficulty of a new crisis or circumstance. Other times, a longstanding, stuck pattern or experience calls for their attention. Still others are feeling content with their lives but are looking for a space for personal growth and exploration with the guidance of a professional.

Perhaps you know what’s bothering you or what you seek from therapy. Or maybe, you can’t put your finger on it, but you know something's not quite right. You don't need to have it all figured out or even know what you're looking for in therapy. As your therapist, it's my job to help us figure out what would most benefit you.

As your therapist, it is also my job to:

Whatever troubles you or whatever your goals may be, therapy should be a space where you can share what might feel unshareable elsewhere, make sense of confusing or overwhelming questions, and get experienced help with what may otherwise be too challenging alone.

About Me

My style is warm, present, and clear. Whether our conversation is lighthearted or serious, I am an active participant in your therapy. I talk more or less depending on what we discover is most useful to you, but you always have access to what I’m thinking.

Most often you will find me asking questions, offering ways to make sense of things, holding space for you to sound things out, teaching concepts or strategies, and providing guidance or recommendations.

I work in a multi-modal, integrative fashion. The theories and modalities that most inform my practice are psychodynamic, relational-cultural, humanistic, existential, family systems, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, liberation psychology, and attachment.

Who I See

I am trained to work with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses. I welcome adults (18+) living in Massachusetts of all races, genders, cultures, sexual orientations, abilities, neurotypes, political beliefs, relationship styles, and stages in life. It will then be up to you, and us, to determine whether I have the knowledge, capacity, and style you need in a therapist. In addition to broad competency, I have extra training and experience in treating developmental and complex trauma.

Exceptions (what I don't offer):

If you are wondering whether your concerns fall within my areas of practice, feel free to inquire.

How I Work

Once you contact me, if I have openings I will send you a short questionnaire to first make sure we are lined up logistically to work together.

Then, we will schedule a brief (complimentary) phone call. This is for us to explore what brings you to seek therapy at this time, what next steps make most sense for you, and whether I am the right therapist for you. You'll get a feel for what it's like to talk to me, and whether I'm someone who could help you.

If we are a good fit to move forward, you will fill out some paperwork, and we will begin with an intake appointment. All sessions last approximately fifty minutes and occur weekly to begin with, with alterations in frequency made as appropriate. Alternate session lengths may be available based upon clinical need.
